Ever wondered what the secret behind my mindset is? A lot of people have to be honest. Multiple people have asked me this question in real life or via social media. The answer is pretty simple but most people neglect it. I don’t know why they neglect it but I don’t care either to be honest. I’m going to give this secret away for free. Great isn’t it?! There are more secrets to my mindset of course (10 to be exact) and those can be found in my book (buy it here). Understanding these secrets might make sure that you take your mindset from Zero To Alpha as well because that’s what life’s about right?

Always on the path of self- improvement, always learning new things. I don’t get people who don’t like to learn new things, I’m curious about a lot of things and most people don’t seem to have that same energy, to be honest.

So I highly doubt that a lot of people will be interested in the other 10 secrets because those took in a lot of pages in my book. It’s by far my favorite chapter as well because it shows how much I’d grown over a year and it also shows how much I’ve grown now. It’s a never-ending journey and I love it!

The secret behind my mindset.

The secret is pretty simple, to be honest. I’ve been depressed and suicidal as you might or might not know. But I was also able to overcome this. I overcame something which seemed impossible at the time. I didn’t even know how to snap out of it at that time. Plus I even had to take pills to control my heart rate and blood pressure (it was crazy high). Many people claimed that it wasn’t normal to have to take these pills at this age (I was 23 at the time). They were right, it wasn’t normal. There was something wrong but I was the last one who noticed it. Life is easy when you constantly escape your problems until they catch up with you off course.

Then they hit you twice as hard. But I overcame the depression (read how it did it here) and I realized that I’d killed a giant monster that was living in my head for quite some time.

So what’s the takeaway?

Well, the takeaway is simple but I have to tell another part of the story before I share the secret. Remember the pills that I had to take to control my heart rate? I still have those pills. They’re on my desk in my room and I can see them every time that I’m sitting at my desk. You’re probably wondering why don’t you? Most people would throw these pills away because they’re a reminder of how they had to go through hard times but I want to be remembered that I had such a period.

This is something to be proud of because I overcame it plus the pills also remind me of one simple principle: it doesn’t matter how bad life gets, I overcame that monster so I’ll be fine. Most of the obstacles that I faced afterward weren’t even that bad as they seemed.

We all face shit in life.

The takeaway is thus very simple. We all have a period in life where we get completely beaten down, that’s how life goes sometimes. But these times should be things to be proud of if you made it out of it and eventually got better. I mean do you want an easy life where everything is handed to you? That whole event made sure that I was able to turn my life around for the better. There wouldn’t be a blog, YouTube channel and podcast if I didn’t snap out of it. I’m pretty grateful for it. That’s why I talk about it so much. It reminds me of growth but also that some problems are not so bad as they seem. We’ve always faced worse things. It’s all a matter of perspective.

Why do you launch this blog about your mindset right now?

Well, most people will assume that I just want to promote my book but that’s not true. I did write this blog because it was World Mental Health day almost a month ago (the 10the of October). There’s a lot of taboo around this matter and my next podcast will cover this matter. I’ve had people who mocked me after they read my story. They called me weak because I was depressed at 23. Read it, most people are surprised when they read it and they don’t even know half of it. They all assume that depression is something for people in their forties but it isn’t. It can happen to young people as well and I’m here to make sure that we can talk about it. There are a lot of young people who don’t come out of it and eventually kill themselves so that has to change.

So I’m here to make that change possible. Because in the end, nothing changes until mindset changes. Think about that next time you’re considering to complain about the weather or some other irrelevant stuff. There are bigger problems in the world but you neglect them by focussing on dumb things. Think about that for a minute.
