The self- proclaimed wise man.

By September 12, 2021 No Comments

One day, a self-proclaimed wise man sat down with his son.

He sipped his coffee and, said “Son, what I’m about to tell you is crucial. This is wisdom that has been passed on for ages. Listen carefully to the following quote. A divided house cannot stand. Always remember that.”

The self-proclaimed wise man then stood up and went on with his day. He was extremely happy because he felt extra smart today.

Later that day, the self-proclaimed wise man suddenly realized it was election day.

So he went to his son, asking him whether he would vote or not.

His son assumed it was a test and said he wouldn’t go since it was pointless.

The self-proclaimed wise man was furious. “Could you imagine what would happen if people from side X ruled the country?!” he asked.

His son calmly replied “Dad, you told me that a divided house cannot stand. Yet here you are forcing me to pick sides. In the end, left and right are both sides of the same bird. People who align with one side will always fight the other side. The ones on the left think they are right, and the ones on the right think they are right.  It’s a double truth so, they will argue until they drop dead. It’s basically the principle of divide and conquer. It’s the oldest trick in the book. The idiots argue and, the people at the top take advantage of it”.

The self-proclaimed wise man was left speechless.

He suddenly realized he wasn’t that wise after all.

He suddenly realized that he almost caused division in his own house.

After this day, he never voted again, nor did he ever pay attention to politics ever again.
