Have you ever made a decision and suddenly started doubting yourself? Or did you ever had to make a decision but never made up your choice? It sucks doesn’t it because some opportunities will never present themselves again. They’ll be gone and you’ll be like “I wish I had don’t this or that….”. Yeah being an overthinker isn’t a blessing. But I’m like that as well. I just learned to make decisions over time by following my gut feeling. Well, that was one of the things that taught me to be more decisive. There’s another thing but I’ll share that later on. The most important right now is that you need to realize that you’ll not always make the right decision but you need to make that decision right. Get it?
I’m an analytical thinker and I got over it so you must be able to do it as well!
Never second guess your decision.
There’s a reason why some people get more done than others. It’s because they’re decisive. They just make a choice and stick to it. This can be in every aspect of your life from career to relationships to whether you should drop out of college or not. These are all hard choices and there are so many options but you have to choose once otherwise you’ll just be dabbling all over the place. You’ll be like “I could do that but then this, this and that won’t be possible”. So you keep on second-guessing and nothing get’s done. I never looked back on the fact that I dropped out of college. My gut feeling told me that it was time to go and that’s why I did. Other people might try to change up my mind but it just won’t happen.
Enter the magnifying glass.
Ever tried to light something on fire with a magnifying glass? Do you know how to do it? You just keep it long enough in one spot and suddenly you get a fire. That’s it. Simple. That’s why you shouldn’t second guess yourself. Just focus on something, make the decision and start the fire. This won’t happen if you constantly change the magnifying glass from place to place. That’s what most people do. They focus on so many things at once that they get nothing done.
But Alex I just can’t make a decision.
Listen to your body, your mind, and your heart. That’s your gut feeling. You already know what and who makes you happy. You just have to get your life in check and the puzzle will unfold right in front of you. Do you think that I had a clue what I wanted after I dropped out of college? I had no clue. It took me one year to find out what I wanted in life. It came out of nothing. The puzzle just fitted together. I didn’t dabble around after I found what I liked. I focused on it and didn’t spill my attention to other things. So I didn’t play with the magnifying glass like most people.
It’s a good comparison, right? The answer is always right in front of you. It’s mostly that simple that you overlook it. They keep looking for something that’s right in front of them. It’s like looking for your keys. You mostly don’t find them when you flip over the entire house but you do find them when you stop looking and accidentally touch your pocket.
Do what makes you happy.
You’ll do something or be with someone that makes you happy when you follow your gut feeling. You’ll feel so much better because that’ll make you feel better. I can tell you right now that I mostly knew that most dates that I had wouldn’t be forever but I still tried it. The same goes for hobbies. I tried tons of different things but nothing sets my heart on fire more than MMA. I just love being in the gym and getting better.
So what are you going to do right now?
Stand in your way?
Listen to the opinion of others and let them stand in your way?
What will it be?
I’m way ahead of the haters.
I know what the haters will say: “how can you focus on MMA if you have this blog. You’re full of shit. Blablabla”. Well, it’s easy. The one lesson that I learned from the 30-day blogging challenge was that I couldn’t do 2 things well so I started to work with priorities. I followed my heart so the magnifying glass is always on MMA. That’s priority number one right now. I won’t blog when I’m in Stockholm. It’s laser focus when I’m there. Here in Belgium I just write in my free- time. Trust me there wouldn’t be 4 blogs a week if we could do multiple sessions a day at my gym.
In conclusion: never second guess your decision.
Decisiveness is the key to success. Get your life in order and then you’ll find something that will make you happy. After that, you need to keep the fire burning and keep on improving your own life.
Trust your gut feeling and never second guess that decision.

I like it man indecision is horrible. Leads to a lot of wasted time. So I agree be divisive! And whatever you do do it to the fullest 💪🏻
You’re right! Follow your heart and things will unfold before your eyes
