Most people don’t understand the value of the process. They’re solely focused on the result and they fall into the trap of life after that. I’ll give you an accurate example later on in this article. The process is the most addictive part for me to be honest. Do you know what I like the most about it? The fact that you need macro patience to get micro results. You can’t have what you want all at once. It takes time and it might even take you years to accomplish what you want.
Most people want it now and aren’t that patient at all. They play the lottery to get rich instead of doing what they really should do. It’s all a trap to ease your lazy mind and that’s what most people don’t seem to get. The lottery will make you win a lot of money but you’ll lose everything else.
You should focus on the process instead of the result
People have a lazy mindset these days, they’re satisfied with basically everything that comes easy. They worked for 5 minutes and now they need a 2-hour break. It’s a dangerous mindset because you’re putting yourself in a comfort zone. And what do people get when they’re in their comfort zone? They get what 99% of the people get and that’s not that much. This is what happens to most people who go to college or university. They hate to learn because they’re forced to do it. You’re fucked once you hate learning because you stop living as soon as you stop learning.
Most people who’re going to college or university hate books but you can only learn by reading books. Ok, you can also learn by watching YouTube videos but how many people would do that? The most meaningful ones have the least views and the dumbest shit can be the most popular. People just like to watch no-brainer stuff like reality shows to ease the mind. Why would they study? They have got their degree or they’ll have it shortly. Most people don’t get why you should study outside of school but I hope that you get it now.
All those books reports made me hate reading but I like it, to be honest. I just read the wrong books and it took me a while to realize it. Most people go through the same process but they just never learn that lesson.
The process, wasting time and life after college
Most people live a pretty clueless life. This is just a sad reality. I’ve heard stories about people who break down as soon as they have to study for a test or finals. They cry all the time, get emotional breakdowns and so on. Strangely, most people don’t get that they’re just pursuing the wrong thing. They do what they hate and hate what they do. I’m the opposite, I love what I do and do what I love. Most people are so afraid to do it but I’ll give you a reason to do it. You’re going to die anyway so why don’t you live a life that’s worth living?
Most people just on keep doing it because you’ve got tons of freedom, parties, and alcohol. That’s the only difference between high school and college. This lifestyle comes with a price since you’ll never have this kind of life again. You’ll lose all that freedom as soon as you enroll in a job. Do you get now why most people are constantly saying that they miss those days? They reliving their past over and over again because they were a lot happier back then. So can you guess how this ends? You’ll end up having a depression. That’s what’s going to happen soon or later. You need to be present at the moment to live fully. It’s pretty sad but it’s also pretty true.
The process and my day
I injured myself about a week ago. I have an inflammation in both knees now and it sucks big time. But I learned to turn the odds in my favor even when I’m injured. My day started at 6 am like usual, I meditated for 20 minutes and made some coffee after that. Coffee is great in the morning and it’s a healthy beverage in general if you drink it in moderation. I watched tons of MMA and BJJ tutorials until 10 am. I revised my post about the fact that people didn’t want a relationship and set it up. After lunch, I went for a walk and read a lot in the afternoon while I put ice on my knees.
I focus a lot on mindset when I’m injured since it’s the most neglected part of sports and life in general. A good mindset and a good life go hand in hand. I did another walk, some reading, and some writing until 11 pm. I went to the premiere of The Fate Of The Furious after that. Work hard and play harder and that’s what I did yesterday. I woke up determined and got to bed satisfied. Note that this isn’t a normal day. Normally I’ll go to bed between 10:30 and 11 pm.
The process is so damn addictive
The process is so addictive because it makes you able to get better every single day. You become better but you just won’t notice it every day. All the small achievements add up after a while. That’s what makes is so addictive and that’s what most people neglect. You see this a lot in sports. People get their pro status and have promising careers. But they never get the career that most people predicted. That’s because those people tend to focus on the result instead of the process. It’s the process that makes you better and not the result.
That’s why some people keep on practicing after training. They just want to get better while others just want to go home. You’ll find me at the heavy end bag before and after training and otherwise, you’ll see me stretching. Most people get into the gym and treat it like a bar. They just want to talk to others but you won’t learn a lot from that. Focus on the process and aim for the result. Not the other way around.
