I don’t care about how much followers I have on social media. The same goes for how much like people give me on social media. Pretty strange right? People freak out when I tell them things like this. They’re mostly blown away by this fact since followers and likes are a big part of blogging. The reason why I write this blog is pretty simple. On Saturday one of my blogs hit the 10000 views mark (the one about the fact that you should stop chasing girls). So I was like cool, it’s a milestone for sure. I shared it on my Instagram story and moved it but it got me thinking. 10000 views is a lot but it’s just a number in the end.
It doesn’t mean a lot because what does it all matter if it never made a difference? What if none of those 10000 people learned the lesson after reading the blog? What if they still chase girls? Stuff to think about right and I’m not even done yet. You shouldn’t care about likes and all the other stuff and here’s why.
Why you shouldn’t care about followers, likes…..
A lot of people like to know how much subscribers that I have and so on. They always focus on the numbers and that’s the same with people who blog or are very active on social media. They always assume that the more likes they have the better but than they start losing followers and likes and they start to panic. That’s where the hidden danger is. That’s where their self-worth can get bound to an artificial number because that’s what they’re focusing on. But where’s the catch you ask? Well, they’ll do anything to please those people who follow them or in an attempt to attract more followers. People who take this approach lose some of their good content in my opinion.
Trying to please others is like the worst thing that you can do because you’ll be unhappy in the end. You’ll start to hate what you loved so much in the beginning and that’s sad.
Those people will set more and more demands and you won’t be able to keep up with it.
Focus on what matters!
Focus on what matters and that’s your content (I can’t stress this enough). You might have fewer followers but you’ll have quality content. You’ll have people who follow you because you’ve got to offer something. You’re fucked if you focus on all those artificial numbers since you’ll focus less on content and won’t stand out that much. So the quality of your content might drop but your followers and likes might keep ongoing. These are 2 different approaches. Which one will be more successful in the end you think? Which one of the 2 will be happier in the end?!
I never wrote a blog because I wanted to please people, I do it for myself. I write what I want to write and that’s it.
Don’t forget to check out my book. The ones who read it liked it.
