Why you should travel alone once in your life.

You should travel alone once in your life. Well, I'm not forcing you to do things but it's something that you should give a shot in my opinion. Traveling alone will take you straight out of your comfort zone but it has a way bigger benefit.

You should travel alone once in your life. Well, I’m not forcing you to do things but it’s something that you should give a shot in my opinion. Traveling alone will take you straight out of your comfort zone but it has a way bigger benefit. It’s something that might improve your life but also something that most people try to avoid altogether. It can be either good or bad. It’s all a matter of perception. Two people can look at the same glass of milk but have a completely different view of reality. It’s half full or half empty according to them. The joke is that it’s both. Most people just like to argue about it. Funny that a glass of milk can cause so much commotion.

Anyways, you should travel alone at least once in your life and here’s why.

You should travel alone once in your life.

You should do it but there’s one thing that you should realize. It must be because you want to and not because you want to escape your problems. Your problems will follow you anywhere so that won’t solve anything. So why should you do it then? Because traveling alone will make you aware of things that you’re not aware of when you’re at home. It’s easy to get stuck in a rut when you’re at home (go to school, go to work…). But that all disappears as soon as you’re on that plane. There are zero routines when you’re on that plane. Well, you can get up at the same as you do at home but that’s about it.

You can wander around as much as you want and that’s a great thing if you ask me. You’ll suddenly unleash the power of silence and solitude.  Your brain will start to work and that’s when the magic happens.

The power of your thoughts when you travel alone.

Your brain is the most powerful tool that you can have. If you use it right of course. You’ll suddenly start to question things such as if you’re happy with the current path that you’re taking. This can be a good thing or a bad thing if you can’t handle it. You see most people question their life at least once and sometimes the accompanying feeling isn’t pretty so they try to shy away from it. They want to keep it deep down in the dungeons of their brain. Hoping that it’ll never come out. But that’s the thing. You can try to escape it but you’ll have to face it once in your life. This can be either when you’re suddenly retired or when you’re on your deathbed. So why would you wait? Waiting too long can make those feelings a lot more painful or even unbearable.

Be brave and do it while you’re young! Don’t wait until you’re old. What I’m about to say now might sound harsh but your happiness depends on it. Just look at how many people feel cheated by life by the age of 45. It’ll take them another 40 years to realize that they’ve just created themselves. Those people die at the age of 23 but don’t get buried until the age of 85.

Travel alone. So Alex have you ever done it?

I’ve never traveled on my own so far but I‘m traveling to Stockholm on Friday on my own. I’ll be there for 9 days mostly to train but I’ll visit the city as well. But I won’t have to face a lot of demons since I’m happy with the path that I took. I already know that. My body and mind are at peace when I do what I love. That’s why I don’t have to second guess my decision.  The reason why is pretty simple. I followed my heart and my gut feeling a long time ago and most things unfolded right before my eyes. That doesn’t mean that I won’t face thoughts that I won’t like but I’ll face them like a man.

I’ll do whatever it takes to learn and make my life better. I’ll take on the little demons before they get bigger. I already broke down once because I faced an extremely big demon and I never want it again.

You might break down as well when you travel on your own. You might even be in a lot of pain but that’s a good thing! That’s when you reached a turning point in your life. That’s when you’ve got a golden opportunity. Can you guess why? Because pain might be cruel but you can use it as fuel!

In conclusion: travel alone at least once in your life.

Do it at least once so that you learn to know the real you. Make the most of it now that you still can. I know that I’ll do it. I’m looking forward to returning to Stockholm. What can I say more? I hope that you someday make a trip that will change your life for the better.
