The mannequin challenge proves two things

There’s a new hype that suddenly popped up. It’s called the mannequin challenge and people seem to be really fond of it. Do you live like this?

"There’s

There’s a new hype that suddenly popped up out of nowhere. It’s called the mannequin challenge and people seem to be fond of it. You need to take a pose and hold it till the guys who film shuts out the camera. I was wondering what could be so fun about this hype. Most hypes don’t tend to last that long, mostly a couple of months. I guess its Pokémon Gone now instead of Pokémon Go. All those get a ton of attention by the media but I’ve never some good hypes get the attention.

There are more and more people who avoid alcohol, a newspaper even labeled it as a trend. I stopped doing it before the article was released so that makes me a trendsetter? Anyway, you’re probably wondering what this challenge proves according to me? You’re hoping that you’re going to find something positive in this post? Spoiler alert: you won’t like what I’m going to tell you now but the mannequin challenge makes you do two things.

  1. Do nothing
  2. Stand still (this is a metaphor, I’ll explain it in a minute)

The mannequin challenge vs real life: the comparison is real

Face it the mannequin challenge makes you stand still and do nothing. It’s a bit a waste of time in my opinion for your 2 minutes of fame on social media. Most people are great at doing nothing. Most people are real-life walking dead who’s a big fan of the show the walking dead.

They get up every day at the same hour (this is still good) but then their whole life feels like a rut. They’re stuck in traffic, a bad job, maybe a bad relationship (most unhappy people don’t have a good relationship). During breaks, they have more interest in their social media than in their coworker’s stories.

But suddenly weekend peaks around the corner so you can sleep as long as you want. You get up way too late, look at all the things you’ve got to do but decide to watch your favorite show first. Suddenly you end up binge-watching it for the fourth time and notice that it’s already late at night.

Sunday doesn’t equal Funday because you’re recovering from a giant hangover. Besides that, you woke up in your puke. I can imagine that there are more fun ways to wake up You complain all day that you have to work again on Monday and go to bed unsatisfied.

Life suddenly looks like the mannequin challenge doesn’t it?

The mannequin challenge equals boredom

Most people are extremely bored because they have no goal in life. Why would you get up when you haven’t planned something you need to do? You can lay in bed all day and watch hours and hours of shows and YouTube.

I admit that I once was just like the majority of people but those days are over. People find it utterly strange when you get up early every day with a whole day ahead. They claim that they would be bored pretty quickly. In reality, it’s the opposite, I need to block time to get things done.

They waste their time doing nothing but claim that they’re always short in time. It’s pretty ironical if you ask me.

So how do we solve the boredom problem?

Well, you could try and aim at your best self. It’s a lot more work than you imagine. It took me over a year and I’m still evolving every single day. It’s hard in the beginning because tons of people will throw hate at you. But don’t worry I’ve got a simple hack to solve that problem.

Check those two posts and then there’s only one thing you should do.

You should show what you’re made off.

I’d rather have roared instead of being bored.

The mannequin challenge vs real life: you’re not progressing

The mannequin challenge is all about holding on to a (funny?) pose. You need to stand still for a long time but most people stand still in real life as well. People tend to celebrate the extreme small things for way too long. They get a promotion, party like it’s 1999 and never get another promotion again. Or they celebrate the success of others and act as they achieved it.

Recently I hit 20000 visitors on the blog and I was already thinking about how I could get it up to 50000. I hadn’t even reached the 20000 yet but I was already aiming at more than double. Others just were eagerly awaiting until I told them that I hit that magical number.

I forgot about it, to be honest, I wouldn’t have seen it if they hadn’t asked me about it over and over again. Some of them even wanted to celebrate it and go out. Most of them don’t even read my blog. It’s sad but true.

They gave me the feeling that I had done something extremely great but I just had several visitors. I’m grateful but I’m already planning. The blogging game never sleeps.

Sleep on a win and you’ll wake up with a loss. In other words, you need to keep evolving if you want to keep on winning. I know people who still celebrate the fact that they’ve got a degree which they earned 25 years ago. They just wasted 25 years doing nothing. Sounds harsh but that’s the truth.

I suggest that you pick up this book and learn how to start living again. Life isn’t hard, you just make it seem that way.

The mannequin challenge is all about following the herd

Do you want to be a part of the herd? Do you want a life that looks like the mannequin challenge? Be honest but I won’t judge you whatever your answer might be. You decide what your goals are in life. In the end, 99% of the readers will just read this post and go on with their lives.

Just realize that you get what you deserve in life. Following the herd mostly doesn’t give you a lot of things.

So ask yourself do you want to live like the walking dead?

Do you want to live a life that looks like the mannequin challenge?

I wonder what the next hype will be. Probably something weird again.

So brave yourself, Furby is coming back (I sincerely hope this doesn’t happen).

The dogs doing the mannequin challenge can be pretty damn funny though!! The human ones are pretty lame though.

I like what you said about how you’re always planning ahead with your goals. I just hit my 20,000 too… And just makes me look forward to 50,000 then 100,000. The journey is never over.

Never seen the dog one to be honest and only saw one or two with humans involved.

Nice congratulations man, we’re both on the road to a lot more visitors. Yeah that’s right, the journey is never over
