Hate your job? I’ve got some bad news for you then

Do you hate your job? Congratulations, you're just like most people. I would party all weekend because you're just like 99% of the people.

Do you hate your job? Congratulations, you’re just like most people. You]re probably  partying all weekend because you’re just like 99% of the people who’re walking this earth. I was highly sarcastic for those who didn’t get it. Sucks doesn’t it? But it’ll suck even more if you keep on reading. You’ll suddenly realize that you hate a lot more than just your  job. It’s time that you leave your comfort zone before it’s too late. Yes, you’ve read it correctly. You’re in a comfort zone right now. You got used to being unhappy. So now you’re standing at crossroads. You can come up with tons of excuses but that won’t solve a single problem. Or you can take ownership of your life.

I highly suggested the latter option, rather than playing the victim here. You’re not doomed. You’re not born to be a wage slave neither to be a loser. You have FREE WILL.

But Alex what if I still don’t take action after reading this post? Well, that means that you’re not miserable enough to take action. Unhappiness can either motivate you to make a change or make you do extremely dumb stuff. I guess you’re comfortable enough to do the latter.

Hate your job? Really? Only your job? I smell bullshit.

Job and instant gratification

So people get out of college/university and they assume that real life (whatever that means) will start. So they enroll in the first job they can find. It doesn’t take long before they realize that the job sucks and now they’re stuck. Those people will soon blame everyone and everything. They’ll feel cheated by life by the age of 40. This is a hard one to get out and it only gets harder if you keep on waiting. Those people all hope that things will get better but that won’t happen. Things can only get better if you take action.

I realized quickly that the most ‘important jobs’ are a joke. You just have to do tons of useless shit and work a lot of overtime. I’m glad that I never had to do those.

Look at it this way. Reality check number 1

There are 24 hours in a day and let’s assume that you sleep for 8 hours. So that means that you’ve still got 16 hours a day. You’ve got to work 8 hours or 50% of the day 5 times a week. So that means that you’re almost half of your life at your job (theoretically of course). Now you hate 50% of your life if you hate your job and I doubt that you’ll love the other 50%. You’ll feel tired and sluggish all the time. So you’ll probably get out of shape before you even know it. Let’s take this part up a notch.

Hate your job but not your life? Interesting!

I’ve never met a person who only liked 50% of his/her life. You either like it or you don’t. It’s that simple. Just take a look at your behavior before and after the job. Do snooze a million times? Do you come home and do you feel like doing nothing? That doesn’t sound fun if you ask me. Do you go to bed hoping that you don’t have to go to work? That’s just during the week.

What about the weekends? Do you go out to get wasted just to forget everything? Do you sleep until noon? Your weekend should be the most productive moment of the week if you have a normal job. You’ve got 8 hours extra on Saturday and Sunday. But you decide to chase pleasure to ease your pain instead of trying to face your problems like you should.

So tell me. Are you really happy? I noticed that most people hate the weekends even more just because they’ve got so much spare time. Some of them even miss their job when they don’t have to go. That same job they hate 5 days a week.

Why I don’t believe that you’re happy

Actions speak louder than words. So you can’t be happy if you’ve got no reason to get up and kick start your day. Just look at it this way: have you ever heard a happy person claim that he/she wants to sleep all day long? Hell no! They sleep until they’re reenergized and start the day. So those people sleep 7-8 hours.

You’re miserable, sick or overtrained if you need more sleep.

Hate your job? Avoid escapism!

People can’t face reality. They do anything to avoid it. Which makes sure that it even hits them harder down the line.

The weekend is the most dangerous for these people. They]re still feeling tired and sluggish from your job. They just want to sleep and ease their mind with alcohol, tons of television shows and so on. People who go out a lot claim that life’s a party but those people don’t seem so happy. You don’t have to live like this because everybody else is doing it.

So the bottom line is that you should face your reality instead of trying to escape it. There’s nothing wrong with a little party here and there. There’s just a difference between trying to escape your reality and celebrating for a reason.

Hate your job? Don’t do this!

Some people will tell you to cope with it. That’s the worst advice that I’ve ever heard! They’ll make sure that you make zero progress in life. Some people will do everything to keep you down and it’s your job to not give in. Some people are experts in giving all the wrong advice.

The painful part about the story is that they assume that it’s the best advice they’ve ever given.

Most people look at the world with a set of limiting beliefs. Those people are mostly the first ones to give you advice. Be aware of this.

Hate your job? Your performance will suffer

Have you ever seen a kid who hates a certain sport? He’ll avoid most practices and eventually quit. The kid got it but why do most adults don’t get it? Well, that’s because there’s money involved and we all need money to survive. Did you know that you can make money in a job you like as well?! Plus there are litterally tousands of jobs waiting out there for you. Crazy isn’t it?! Anyways, you’ll constantly be distracted while you’re at your job simply because you hate it. Your performance will suffer but it’ll be just good enough to keep you there.

You’ll be a lot happier at the right job. You’ll perform better and you’ll be able to get out of bed a lot earlier.

Hate your job? Take action!!!!

Let me ask you a very simple question that has a very simple answer (shocker). Who’ll take action if you don’t do it? NOBODY!!!!!!!!! Some people claim that they almost quit their job. You didn’t so don’t talk about it. Just look for a new and better job! You don’t have to a shit job for the rest of your life. Just use your spare time to find a better one. JUST FUCKING DO IT. Take a day off to make sure that you can do one or multiple job interviews. Fortune favors the bold and it will favor you as well if you take action. That’s it.

The answer was in front of you all along but you needed a blog post to see it. It’s all about following your gut feeling.

So get a new better job. Quit the shit job and be happy again. That’s it.

Very true. Sometimes I’m at work so much that I forget how to even live my life outside of the job. Makes great fuel to keep at it over at Sweet Machine Fitness though! I will escape the 9-5. I will make a better life for me and my family
