I don’t have to make choices because I set priorities.

Did you know that I never have to make choices in life? I always set priorities. Well okay, I do have to make choices from time to time but I don't have to make a lot of them. I don't spill my willpower on stupid stuff because you can deplete your willpower and that's when you'll make some poor choices.

Did you know that I never have to make choices in life? I always set priorities. Well okay, I do have to make choices from time to time but I don’t have to make a lot of them. I don’t spill my willpower on stupid stuff because I realize that you can deplete your willpower and that’s when you’ll make some poor choices. People don’t realize that choices shape your life whether you like it or not. You’ve got a lot of power in your own hands when you make this realization. But most people don’t realize this and they have to make unnecessary choices all the time. Stuff what like what you’ve got to wear to impress others and all that dumb shit. Nobody cares since they’re all focused on their appearance. I always wonder if people want this as their number one priority.

I’ll tell you right here and right now what people want the most.  They want all the money and fame one day but they want something entirely else right now. Those people are craving comfort. They just want to be lazy. That’s people’s number one priority. The choices they face are pretty hard as well. I mean deciding which show you’ll watch on Netflix is probably one of the hardest choices that you’ll ever make in life. I kid you not. Or do I?

I don’t have to make choices because I set priorities.

But how do I do it you ask? Most people keep on wondering how I do it since I blog, I train a lot, I read, I have a job and so on. Some people even asked me if I ever sleep and the answer is yes I do. 7- 8 hours per night. My first secret is that I invest my time instead of wasting it. I don’t like to waste time. Wasting time means that I do something that doesn’t benefit my life. That’s where the priorities come in. I’ll give you a day as an example to make sure that you get the point.

Enter Monday.

On Monday I only have to work in the afternoon so I guess that most people would sleep until 10 and get started. I wake up at 6 because it’s a priority for me to beat the sun. That’s my first win of the day. After that, I want to make sure that I write one or two blog posts (depends on how productive I was on the weekend). There could probably pop up some distractions but I don’t care, I keep focused on the task ahead. Then I do some other stuff. I’ve got a training session at 7 pm and in summer there are a lot of distractions at that time but I don’t give in to any of them. 7 pm is training time and nothing else. Except when I’m injured of course, then I’ve got to rest.

At the end of the day I want to have trained, read, wrote one or multiple blogs and after that, we can talk. My main priority is just getting to a better version of myself every single day. That’s the martial arts mentality that most people don’t possess.

So why can’t others do this?

Because they don’t prioritize things. They think they do but they don’t. I know a lot of guys who’d skip training for any given reason. They want to go but suddenly a distraction pops up and they have to make a choice. The struggle must be real. You don’t have to make choices if you set your priorities straight and yes they might shift during the day. After training, you could spend have some me-time or spend time with your girlfriend if you’ve got one. It’s up to you to see how many that you’ve got but I’ve got 5 that reoccur over and over again.

Training, blogging, eating healthy, reading and relaxing. It’s not about working hard. It’s about working smart and setting priorities. People make shit way too difficult. They have to turn everything into rocket science and overthink everything.

I’ve written a guest post on sweetmachinefitness

I’ve written a post about religion and the Bible on sweetmachinefitness. Check it out (read it here). Oh, it’s more of a collab because Luke will give his opinion as well. Don’t forget to check out his blog. He wrote some great ones and his recipes are great. They’ll turn you into a heavyweight. Yes, they’re that delicious.

Don’t forget to check out my book. The ones who read it liked it.
