I went bike riding yesterday to visit my grandfather. I was looking to get into the red zone which means that I’ll be exhausted to improve my endurance. So most people will wonder how a bike ride can contain a valuable lesson. Most people don’t realize that you can learn something from everything you do. You just have to be present at the moment. It’s addictive to learn every single day although most people hate it. That’s the fault of our educational system.

People get dumb and dumber these days. It’s pretty sad to witness this whole trend. I’m pretty sure that some will even laugh at me when I would tell them that I learned a lesson from riding my bike. They can laugh all they want since I don’t care about the haters. Never return hate because the situation will only get worse.

The bike ride that contained a valuable lesson

So I was riding my racing bike when I was suddenly passed by an elderly guy with an electric bike. I was like “hell no, you’re not going to get ahead of me”. So I put in some effort and passed the guy but I suddenly noticed some other people who’re riding ahead of me. I passed them all on my way to visit my grandfather. I kept on pushing even when I faced a heavy headwind. I was showing what I was made off. But I met another guy with a racing bike along the way and he was challenged because I just drove past by him. He did some effort and eventually passed me. I saw a little smile on his face and I knew that I would pass him again.

I was riding a bit behind him and then there was a steep bridge ahead of us. He was already on the bridge when I was at the beginning. So I took a deep breath and accelerated. I passed him while we were both climbing and heard that he became frustrated. I never looked behind me but I never saw the guy again on the remaining part of the road. So I guess his spirit broke.

The lesson behind my bike ride

Do you get what I mean with the story of my bike ride? It’s pretty easy. You’ll always have to put in the effort no matter what you do in life. It may be uncomfortable in the beginning but you’ll get the hang of it. You have to leave your freaking comfort zone. There will be a time where you suddenly aim towards a goal in life (in this case it was my grandfather’s house). But you’ll have to set little goals along the way to remain motivated (all the other people that were riding in front of me). You know that you’ll face some troubles along the way (the headwind).

Do you get it? But what about the guy who passed me you ask? Well in life there will always people who pass you at a certain point. You’ll be frustrated but you are the one who controls how much time and effort that you put in. So you just pass them back and move on. A lot of people quit as soon as they have to do some extra effort (the guy struggled on the bridge and was frustrated when I passed him). That part contains a valuable lesson. You can be the biggest or strongest guy in the whole world but you’ll never achieve anything if you lack the heart.

Most people display a lack of heart. A lack of heart means that you’ll never have a head start.

The bike ride and the lack of heart

I’m not the biggest guy. I’ll never be the strongest guy when it comes to lifting weights but two things separate me from all the others. My work ethic and my heart. I may look like Bruce Banner from the outside but I’m as big as the Incredible Hulk on the inside. I used to have a lack of heart of the past but I learned to use my fear. Now it’s time to develop your heart as well. Sometimes you just have to take a bike ride to learn how much heart you’ve got. So once again: you’ll have a bad start if you’ve got a lack of heart. Just keep moving because nothing is impossible.

Just stop the abuse of every lame excuse.
